Choose the hosting lane that fits. Pay for what changes.
Managed Hosting has simple monthly plans. Cloud VPS is priced from the server you choose. Stack Servers reserve managed capacity for heavier workloads. Edge connects compatible infrastructure you already run.
Every price on this page is a monthly price, and the figure you see is the price we charge. Managed Hosting is billed in Kenyan shillings for the plan you pick. Cloud VPS, Stack Servers and the add-ons are billed in US dollars at the rates listed on this page; KSh figures beside them convert at the current rate, and the final amount is confirmed on the invoice.
Use the plans for standard hosting. Use the calculators when CPU, memory, storage or support level affect the price.
Custom server sizes, extra IP addresses, longer backup retention and special support requests are confirmed before you order.Live regions Dallas · Denver
Answer two questions. Find the right lane.
Start with what you are hosting. The calculator will point you to a plan, a VPS configuration, a Stack Server pool or an Edge review.
What are you hosting?
Pick the closest match.
What does the site need to do?
One site stays inside the entry plan unless it needs more than pages.
Plans count live sites. If one site starts feeling slow, move it to reserved compute instead of upgrading for more site slots.
How many live sites, and who touches them?
Site count sets the plan. Shared access is what moves people up a tier.
Only live sites count against the allowance. A client site still being built does not use a slot, so count the sites people depend on today.
Where is the store today?
A store’s hosting need changes when orders become something people expect daily.
For stores, order flow matters more than page views: payment callbacks, stock updates, email and search all need room.
How is the application running?
The difference between a shared plan and reserved compute is usually background work.
Background jobs, queues and databases are usually what push an app out of shared hosting.
Set the shape of the server.
CPU, memory and storage set the monthly VPS price. Moving the sliders does not place an order.
Need a whole pool reserved for several environments instead of one server? Choose Stack Servers.
Which starting pool size is closest?
Listed pools use published prices. Other mixes use the same resource rates in the estimator.
Private capacity is reserved for your workloads. S / M / L are starting sizes. Other mixes are calculated from CPU, memory and storage.
What is the node running underneath?
Edge supports two virtualisation foundations. Naming the one you have is the fastest way to a straight answer.
If you are not sure what it runs, choose that option. We will check compatibility before recommending Edge.
Simple plans for sites we host for you.
Use Managed Hosting when you want StackHost to run the hosting environment while you focus on the website or application.
- Git and SSH
- Staging, databases and cron
- Larger allowances
- Team access
- Twenty site slots
- Priority support options
Size a VPS or a private pool.
Cloud VPS and Stack Servers are calculated from the CPU, memory and storage you choose. Move a control and the figure follows.
Set the machine you want.
Choose the server shape and options.
Size the pool — the machines are shaped from it.
Enter the total capacity the environment needs.
A monthly size you hold, not a job you pay for.
Backup pricing is based on protected data size.
To 128 GB
The tier most single sites and small applications land in.
To 256 GB
Where an application has a database worth keeping properly.
To 512 GB
The first three tiers. Published tiers continue up to 20 TB, and the calculator prices any requested size.
Backup tiers run from 128 GB to 20 TB. Above 20 TB, pricing continues at the 20 TB tier's per-GB rate.
Charged only when you ask us to restore something.
Backup storage is billed monthly. Restore work is charged when you need recovery help.
Standard restore
One machine or one service put back from a healthy copy.
Full-environment restore
Recover the full environment and test that the main services come back cleanly.
Stack Server pool prices do not include restore work. The pool covers capacity and day-to-day management; recovery work is charged when you request it.
Add them when the environment needs them.
Most environments do not need these on day one. The unit rates are listed here; the final total depends on how many devices, networks or machines are in your order.
Cloud Networks
Connect servers, offices and remote devices on one private network. Traffic leaves through the closest exit, connects directly where it can and relays where it cannot.
- First Cloud Network included with Stack Server pools
- Connected devices: $7.16 per device per month
- Additional networks: $5.16 per month
- Final total depends on connected device count
Virtual firewall
Included where the environment requires one. It runs on StackHost’s side as an appliance you do not operate, patch or fail over yourself.
- OPNsense, pfSense, MikroTik and VyOS are the images we run
- Included in the environment price when required
- Consumes reserved pool capacity, sized with the environment
Snapshots
Point-in-time copies of a machine’s provisioned storage, taken before risky work.
- $2.57 per month, plus $0.0208 per GB of provisioned storage
- Included in the Cloud VPS calculator above
- Stack Server pool snapshots use the same storage rule
Metrics retention
How long performance history stays queryable after it is collected.
- 30 days $1.43 · 60 days $2.12 per machine per month
- 90 days $2.88 · 180 days $4.56 per machine per month
- Standard retention is already inside the server price
Bring infrastructure you already run.
Edge pricing depends on the hypervisor, host count, virtual machines, backup needs and support level.
Describe the infrastructure you already have.
Share the basics and we will check whether Edge fits.
What sets the price?
Each lane is priced from a different input: site count, server resources, reserved capacity or existing infrastructure.
| Lane | What moves the number | Price | How you buy it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Managed Hosting | Live site count, and whether the plan includes developer tooling and shared access | KSh 399 · 1,299 · 2,999 per month | Choose a plan |
| Cloud VPS | CPU, memory, storage, IP addresses and paid add-ons | Calculated on this page, in US dollars | Configure a VPS |
| Stack Servers | Reserved capacity, number of machines, backup needs and management level | Calculated on this page, in US dollars | Design my Stack Server |
| StackHost Edge | Your existing node, virtual machines, backup needs and support level | Quoted after review | Check Edge compatibility |
Resource pricing
| Resource | Cloud VPS (one machine) | Stack Servers (reserved pool) |
|---|---|---|
| vCPU | $3.13 | $3.87 |
| Memory, per GB | $3.42 | $3.92 |
| Storage, per GB | $0.2034 | $0.22 |
| Public IPv4 | $5.95 | $6.43 |
| Windows vCPU (per core) | $10.94 | $11.40 |
Routine server management is included with every Cloud VPS and Stack Server — it is not a line item. Human intervention time is priced separately, below.
Managed from day one.
Routine platform operations are included in your server price. We monitor the environment, maintain the operating system, apply standard security updates and run routine health and maintenance checks. When something needs hands-on troubleshooting, recovery or custom work, intervention time is billed separately.
Every account
Pooled across all of your StackHost servers and pools on one account — not per server. It does not roll over, and it is consumed before any pack balance.
Pay as you go
Billed in 30-minute blocks — $17.50 per block — drawn from the included allowance first, then a prepaid pack, then pay as you go.
| Pack | Hours | Price | Effective hourly rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 5 | $165.00 | $33.00 / hour |
| Standard | 10 | $315.00 | $31.50 / hour |
| Team | 20 | $560.00 | $28.00 / hour |
Pack prices convert at the indicative rate on this page. A pack lasts 12 months from purchase, and one extension is granted if you top up before it expires. Unused hours are not cash-refundable.
Routine platform operations
- Monitoring, alerts and standard health checks
- Routine operating-system security patch cycles
- Automated restarts of an approved service
- Backup-job monitoring where backup is purchased
- SSL expiry monitoring and security-baseline checks
- Scheduled maintenance scripts
Hands-on work with an engineer
- Manual server troubleshooting and repeated-crash investigation
- Custom firewall or network changes
- Custom runtime installation and non-standard server configuration
- Database recovery and manual migration work
- Performance investigation that needs engineer time
- Manual restoration work beyond the priced restore operation
Application development stays out of scope. And if a StackHost change, automation or maintenance action caused the problem, the time to correct it is never billed — it does not touch your allowance or a pack balance.
Standard support hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00 EAT, excluding Kenyan public holidays. Work outside those hours consumes support time at twice the rate — one hour after hours uses two — from whichever balance covers it.
Describe the workload and we will tell you which lane it belongs in.
If the cheaper answer is a Managed Hosting plan, that is the answer you get — even when a server would have been the bigger order.
