About StackHost

Hosting should get more capable as you grow. Not more complicated.

StackHost is one place to run websites, applications, virtual servers, private compute and the infrastructure you already own — with clear pricing, clear responsibility and room to grow. This page is the honest version of how it works and why we built it this way.

Four product lanes running on one StackHost operating model A table lists the four lanes: Managed Hosting, Cloud VPS, Stack Servers and StackHost Edge. Each row shows what the customer runs and what StackHost runs for it. All four rows connect downward into a single dark band labelled one operating model, which carries monitoring, maintenance, backups, health checks and clear pricing, and states that system problems are StackHost's while application code is the customer's. Why we built it

The problem was not a lack of hosting providers. The problem was fragmentation.

We work with businesses, developers and agencies that need more than a basic hosting account but do not want to spend their time managing infrastructure, juggling providers or figuring out which platform is responsible when something goes wrong.

A website might sit with one provider, a server with another, backups somewhere else, monitoring in a separate dashboard and support spread across several companies. The more serious the workload became, the more complicated everything around it became too.

We wanted a simpler model. One platform where a customer could start with a single website and grow into managed servers, private infrastructure and more advanced workloads without rebuilding everything around a new provider every time.

That became StackHost.
Workload first

Built around how people actually use infrastructure.

Most customers do not wake up wanting a VPS, a hypervisor or a private network. They want to run something: a website, an application, an online store, a business system, a database, a collection of services their company depends on.

So we built StackHost around the workload first. You tell us what needs to run. We provide the infrastructure around it, manage the routine operational work and give you the level of control the workload actually requires.

  • For some customers, that means Managed Hosting.
  • For others, it means a Cloud VPS with root access.
  • Larger workloads may need reserved Stack Server capacity.
  • And organisations that already own infrastructure can bring it into StackHost Edge instead of replacing it.
Different starting points. One operating model.
How StackHost works

Four lanes. One operating model.

Managed Hosting

For websites, applications and client projects that need a reliable environment without their own server. We handle the hosting layer, monitoring and routine infrastructure work while you focus on the application itself.

Explore Managed Hosting

Cloud VPS

For workloads that need their own virtual server and more control. You choose the CPU, memory, storage and operating system. StackHost handles the routine server and infrastructure operations around it while you stay in control of your applications and code.

Explore Cloud VPS

Stack Servers

For businesses that need more capacity or several workloads. Instead of buying separate fixed servers, you reserve a private pool of CPU, memory and storage and shape it around what your systems actually need.

Explore Stack Servers

StackHost Edge

For infrastructure you already own. We add an agreed management layer around compatible environments, including monitoring, maintenance, backup and operational visibility, while the underlying hardware remains yours.

The economics

Managed without making it expensive.

We believe good infrastructure management should rely on automation first. Routine checks, monitoring, maintenance, patching and standard remediation should happen quietly in the background instead of requiring an engineer to manually touch every server. That allows us to keep the monthly infrastructure price practical.

When something genuinely requires hands-on work, such as troubleshooting, recovery or a non-standard change, human intervention is handled separately and transparently.

Automate the routine. Intervene when it matters.
Clear responsibility

Managed should not mean vague.

StackHost manages the infrastructure and operating environment we agree to manage. You remain in control of your application, code, business logic and data.

Our side of the line

System problems

If a server has a system problem, that is our side of the line — and if a StackHost change or automation caused it, the time to correct it is never billed.

Your side of the line

Application problems

If an application has a bug in its code or a third-party integration fails, that remains with the application owner or developer.

The boundary is explained before anything goes live.

Clear pricing

Publish what can be published.

We do not believe every service needs to disappear behind a contact form. Where a service can be standardised, we publish the price. Where the final cost depends on the environment, capacity or customer setup, we calculate or quote it properly.

  • Managed Hosting uses straightforward monthly plans.
  • Cloud VPS and Stack Servers are priced from the resources you choose.
  • More complex infrastructure is assessed before it is provisioned.
  • No artificial packages simply to hide the real cost.
Built to grow

A customer should not have to change hosting companies every time their infrastructure becomes more serious.

You might begin with one website. Later, that website may become an application. The application may need its own server. The server may become several workloads. Eventually, the business may need private infrastructure or may already have hardware of its own.

StackHost is designed to stay useful through those changes.

How we work

Five principles we operate by.

Keep it simple for the customer.

The infrastructure behind the service can be complex. The way you buy it, use it and get support should still feel straightforward, predictable and easy to understand.

Do the routine work in the background.

Monitoring, maintenance and standard operational tasks should happen quietly in the background, without becoming another thing your team has to remember, chase or manage.

Be clear about who owns what.

Before anything goes live, we define what StackHost manages, what remains with you, and where responsibility changes so there is no ambiguity when something goes wrong.

Put a price on what can be priced.

Standard services should have standard prices. If your setup needs something custom, we explain what changes, quote it properly and agree the cost before the work starts.

Fit the infrastructure to the workload.

We do not start with a package and force your application into it. We start with what needs to run, then shape the infrastructure around the workload, scale and level of control required.

What we are building

One place to run the infrastructure behind modern businesses.

Websites. Applications. Virtual servers. Private compute. Backups. Networking. Infrastructure customers already own. The goal is not to make customers think more about infrastructure. It is to make infrastructure something they can depend on without it becoming another business to run.

One StackHost

From a single website to a more complex infrastructure environment.

StackHost gives you one place to run, manage and scale the technology behind your business.

Where to start
  1. Pick the workload.A site, an application, a server, hardware you own.
  2. Read its lane. Each product page states exactly where our work ends and yours begins.
  3. Start this week.A single website is a genuine starting point, and it grows from there.
